Climb aboard the " incredible " Big Green Bus

These days, with the rising cost of housing and a sinking economy, it pays to get creative when it comes to affordable housing. Built from a 1982 public transportation bus, the Big Green Bus was converted into a cozy, energy-efficient home that has been featured on the show Amazing Spaces.

With three bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, the bus is a fun, funky place to spend the night, and it resides in the gorgeous Sussex area. Once you see the interior, you won't believe this double-decker getaway used to be a working bus .

The bold, Kelly green exterior gives way to a simple yet completely sufficient interior. Featuring sleeping space for up to six guests, the bus offers a cheerful dining table that doubles as sleeping loungers if necessary. With plenty of available natural light, dining and relaxation come easy, and there is plenty of seating space for guests along with greenery provided by lush plants. Notice the sleeper tucked into the back of the bus, offering an inventive way to catch some zzz's.

Tucked into an alcove on the top deck of the bus is another comfortable double bed that faces a window with a countryside view. They say location is everything, and in this case, it doesn't get much better than the rolling meadows and picturesque trees.

The original bus fixtures have been fitted to meet modern housing needs, including a small bathroom. Colorful tiles perk up the little lavatory, and a fun fish toilet adds a kitschy touch. There's also a shower and wet room available for guests, as well as an outdoor shower.

Ready for some lunch? Step into the fully functional kitchen, which offers charming wooden countertops, a porcelain sink and a modern range. Enjoy the view and plenty of light in this quirky, eclectic, colorful kitchen, which also includes pantry storage and drawers, all painted in the bus's signature shade of green. Hardwood oak floors add a rustic touch that makes the space even more inviting. The bus has hot water, updated outlets and electricity, as well as a log burner to keep guests warm in the winter.

If you'd rather have a meal al fresco, head outside to make use of the campfire pit and decking area, which provides the perfect spot for grilling outdoors in the fresh air. Enjoy your meal on a wooden picnic table, and after dinner, relax in the wood-fired hot tub.

Next time you're in the UK, plan a trip to the Big Green Bus for the weekend. The owners of the bus rent it out to visitors, offering a scenic and charming getaway for visitors who wish to see what it's like to sleep in a converted bus. With the town of Laughton less than an hour away, the Big Green Bus is the perfect getaway for those who want the feeling of camping in a more sophisticated setting, and with more amenities .
